Nathanael: 8 Years Since All Your Tears Were Washed Away

Nathanael Alexander Daggett -- December 5, 1977 to June 16, 2015

It's hard to believe it's been 8 years to the day that Nathanael went home to heaven. It's been an emotional day and sometimes it still feels so raw and sad. Grief over losing loved one doesn't ever seem to lift; it just changes. I'm sure most of you understand this.

So much has passed on this side of eternity while N and Hilary have been home for what feels like a while now. Namely a little boy named Obed Alexander Nathanael has been born and keep us very busy! I know Hils and N would have LOVED Obi to pieces.

Today, I'm keeping it short and sharing a song that very much reminds us of Nathanael. In fact, the singer and dobro player in The Petersen's, Emmett, has so many similarities to N-- a gentleness, humility and sweetness that pervades his singing.

The lyrics couldn't be more fitting.

Enjoy this song as you take a few minutes to remember one of the most special, sweet, hilarious, intelligent and Christ-like humans we have ever known.

N, we miss you SO much, but are so glad all your tears, and all your mama's tears, are finally washed away.

All My Tears

by Julie Miller

When I go, don't cry for me In my Father's arms I'll be The wounds this world left on my soul Will all be healed and I'll be whole Sun and moon will be replaced with the light of Jesus' face And I will not be ashamed for my Savior knows my name

It don't matter where you bury me I'll be home and I'll be free It don't matter, anywhere I lay All my tears be washed away

Gold and silver blind the eye Temporary riches lie Come and eat from Heaven's store Come and drink and thirst no more So weep not for me, my friend, when my time below does end For my life belongs to Him, who will raise the dead again

It don't matter where you bury me I'll be home and I'll be free It don't matter, anywhere I lay All my tears be washed away All my tears be washed away

AMEN! This song comes from a verse in Revelation chapter 21.

"...and he shall wipe away every tear from their eyes; and death shall be no more; neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain, any more: the first things are passed away."

Revelation 21:4

Be sure to check out N's story if you want to learn more about N's life or see pictures of this precious human: Nathanael Alexander Daggett, who graced earth from December 5, 1977 to June 16, 2015 with his beautiful presence.
